Dionysio e Seu Quinteto - Romance no Texas Bar (1959)

Hello, Good Evening! What a great day. Loronix is receiving today several new visitors and we are really above the average. Perhaps it is the Zimbo Trio Vol. 2 effect or people coming back from the weekend and checking what is new. Anyway, I have been receiving some emails from friends asking to do not forget to make the old "Para Dancar" albums from the late 50's. That's why I decided to start the day in the style showing a musician that we never spoke before at Loronix.

This is Dionysio e Seu Quinteto - Romance no Texas Bar (1959), for International. Dionysio was an active sax player, being member of Maestro Zaccarias orchestra and also from the cast of TV Tupi musicians. Romance no Texas Bar is for dancing, but will fulfill the needs of friends in the mood of a very well played instrumental music with sax, bass, drums, piano and guitar. Texas Bar was a nightclub, very close to my place; perhaps Dionysio was an active musician at Texas Bar. I hope you enjoy another Brazilian artist never released before at Loronix. Tracks include:

Tempo em que fazia-se e ouvia-se Música. E também dançava-se. Juntinho.

Nessa época o Baden morava no Hotel Apa.
Eu, no prédio ao lado.
Habeas Corpus

Ao Bolero e Balalaika eu ia por minha conta e risco.
Farolito...

Hoje é tudo muito diferente. A garotada vai pra balada.
Bate estaca.
Êxtase!

Esse é o papel do Loronix que me entusiasma: Resgatar o que temos de melhor.

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.

Dear Sherlock Holmes:

This is an important find, a recording that has Baden Powell that is not listed on the Baden site, Brazil-on-Guitar. Very good.

Highness, Dear Magnificence,

Sure. It is not easy to make additions to the great Brazil-on-guitar.

The last "finding" was a record from Zaccarias, featuring Baden Powell as sideman. You can check it here .

It is good to see my mentor back to comments.

Thanks.

Your servant,
