Eumir Deodato - Inutil Paisagem (1964)

Several Loronix friends were today at the first Eumir Deodato concert in Sao Paulo after a hiatus of twenty years with no live concerts in Brazil. Unfortunately, I spent a lot of time listening and having fun with Grupo Manifesto and probably everybody is now sleeping home dreaming with the great night they had. Anyway, hope they get surprised tomorrow morning and all Loronix friends have a nice time with this early Eumir Deodato album.

This is Eumir Deodato - Inutil Paisagem (1964), for Forma, a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim with Eumir Deodato as arranger, director and pianist with production and artistic direction of Roberto Quartin. Don't miss the liner notes included with the music, written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, amazed with Eumir Deodato and his talent to write orchestra arrangements with the age of 21 years old. Dick Farney - Penumbra Romance (1971)

I was really happy when I found this album that I had only a copy sent by a friend on MP3s files. Now I can say that I'm a happy owner of the original LP issue on a very good quality, almost not played before. It is also a pleasure to share another Dick Farney album, by the way, one of the greatest albums he made.

Dick Farney has been surprising many Jazz fans around the world that are tuned at Loronix. I have received more than a few emails from friends outside of Brazil sending greetings for discovering Dick Farney. I said it before and I want to say it again, Dick Farney and Lucio Alves where favorites of many renowned artists that emerged from the Bossa Nova age, such as Antonio Carlos Jobim and others. I'm making available a picture found at Rui Castro's Bossa Nova book of a wallet from a member of the legendary Sinatra-Farney Fan Club, just to give you an idea of how important was Dick Farney.

This is Dick Farney - Penumbra Romance (1971), for London. We can say that Penumbra Romance is between the singer and the pianist, since Dick Farney Trio accompanies Dick Farney, which are Dick Farney (piano), Toninho (drums) and Saba (bass). The song Teresa da Praia has the participation of Lucio Alves as a special guest and worth entire record. Tracks include:

Milton Banana Trio - Balancando com Milton Banana Trio (1966)

One of the benefits of Loronix Find It, is the growing interest on Archives, the posts from the past, available since Loronix was opened for friends in May 12th. Another feature that makes people visit these posts is the creation of something I could not find a name better than Realejo, which is this icon you see on your left, a nice feature, clicking on Realejo you will get a random post, a post that comes out of the blue from Realejo. Aracy de Almeira e Ismael Silva - Show Samba Pede Passagem (1966)

My apologies to Ismael Silva, MPB-4, Carlos Poyares, Conjunto Samba Autentico, Partido Alto and Sidney Miller with his Grupo Mensagem, but this album is all about Aracy de Almeida, which is a Samba singer considered by Noel Rosa as the best interpreter of his compositions. Aracy de Almeida has a giant discography, mostly 78 RMPs and more than 50 years on recordings. My apologies also to do not make this post earlier, a friend of zecalouro sent this LP to Loronixers and I'm very happy to show it at the quality deserved.

This is Aracy de Almeida e Ismael Silva - Show Samba Pede Passagem (1966), for Polydor, recorded live at Teatro de Arena, Rio de Janeiro, December 1965, directed by Joao das Neves and Armando Costa, Musical Direction by Maestro Lindolfo Gaya and produced by Grupo Opiniao.

It is a shame that Aracy de Almeida is pretty unknown as a singer in Brazil. I don't know exactly why and when, she made a shift on her career, leaving professional singing for a participation on a Brazilian TV Show, Show de Calouros, presented by Silvio Santos. I remember by the time Aracy de Almeida passed away, Brazilian media did not make a single mention of the great singer she was, but only as the woman of Show de Calouros. That's why zecalouro is making two videos, the first is Aracy de Almeida performing Nao Me Diga Adeus (1975) and the second one is an excerpt of her participation at Show the Calouros. By the way, Aracy was fantastic on that show and I had a great time when I was a kid watching her. Tracks include:

Neco - Samba e Violao Vol. 2 (1968)

I do not have a clue of what zecalouro is planning as the last post and I hope he makes the right choice, at least picking up a nice cover such like this one and the last one with the girl in front of a yellow background. Today seems to be the "beautiful cover" day at Loronix.

When I made available the first record of this wonderful Brazilian guitar player I would never realize that we would make three additional releases, all provided by Caetano Rodrigues, which I say thanks for sharing this rare Neco LPs.

This is Neco - Samba e Violao Vol. 2 (1968), for London. Little is known about this album, the back cover has just the same black and white picture of front cover with track list. What is known is Caetano's and zecalouro's opinion, which are both very positive with zeca saying that among the four Neco LPs he have heard, this is the best one. This is a very hard to find and an excellent album; we should thanks Caetano for making it available to our community on a really nice quality. Tracks include:

Altamiro Carrilho e Seu Conjunto de Solistas - Boleros em Desfile Nr. 2 (1959)

As soon as Loronix and Jornal Musical post was released I received some emails of friends asking for Altamiro Carrilho. I made a recommendation to search at Loronix Find It and check for previous releases. They were not happy, crying out for a new release. I learn with Loronix how music fans are really focused on their passion. Anyway, let's see Altamiro Carrilho on a different genre, bolero.

This is Altamiro Carrilho e Seu Conjunto de Solistas - Boleros em Desfile Nr. 2 (1959), for Copacabana. My apologies for do not have restoration skills to present a better cover image to Loronixers, this cover is so good that worth the whole album. Altamiro Carrilho leads a "Conjunto" and this record is dedicated to a genre that was very famous in Brazil until the 70's, bolero. I was talking yesterday with Caetano about bolero, very famous in the past and just disappeared today. Caetano said that a party with no bolero tunes was certainly a bad party at that time, since bolero is for dancing, another tradition that we do not see so often. Tracks include:

Wilson Simonal - Tem Algo Mais (1963)

I'm confident someone finds Altamiro Carrilho e Sua Flauta Azul 10-inch as described bellow. It will fantastic to have this album back to Altamiro and Jornal Musical and also a great accomplish to our community. Anyway, once again I do not have arguments to explain why the debut LP of this so adored artist was not released before. This is a great album, different from the later works of Wilson Simonal and you will have a high quality entertainment with it.

This is Wilson Simonal - Tem Algo Mais (1963), for Odeon, Wilson Simonal debut LP, featuring orchestral arrangements by Maestro Lyrio Panicalli. Do not think you will get a groovy samba flavored Wilson Simonal on his debut, this is a nice Bossa Nova album with Wilson Simonal singing smooth, supported by Maestro Lyrio Panicalli. Definitively, the early 60's was the peak years for Brazilian male singers; several nice works are from this period, such like the early works of Pery Ribeiro and others. Tracks include:
