It is time to celebrate Baden Powell de Aquino with Baden Powell Quartet 1970 LP, Lotus. This LP was recorded live on a French TV show. This album is the first Baden release for the French label Festival and is considered today a rare collectors item.
Baden Powell Quartet is Baden Powell (guitar), Ernesto Ribeiro Goncalves (bass), Helio Schiavo (drums) and Alfredo Bessa (percussion). Tracks include:
01 - Pai
02 - Tristeza
03 - Round About Midnight
04 - Nega Do Cabelo Duro
05 - Aos Pes Da Santa Cruz
06 - Lotus
zecalouro is getting addicted again to music videos and cannot resist to make available an excerpt of Baden Powell at Programa Ensaio - TV Cultura, showing Baden playing guitar and singing with the small voice of his late years.

Very rare album, this is a album I have been needing for a long time. Thank you very much!
Thank you, thank you ! Baden Powell has been one of my favorite guitarists for over 35 years, even though I had only heard the few discs that were available at that time in the US. To discover the Brazil-on-guitar and Loronix sites has been a revelation for me. I can finally hear all the rest of Baden's music.
Based on the Brazil-on-Guitar discography, it seems that some of the remaining titles that are very hard to find are Ao Vivo no Teatro Santa Rosa, Grandezza on Guitar, L'Art de Baden Powell, L'Ame de Baden Powell, Le Coeur de Baden Powell, Baden Powell a Paris 1974.
I would especially love to hear these. Is there anyone that can contribute them? I only have some bad quality old tapes of L'Art & L'Ame.
BTW the notes on Brazil-on-Guitar say that Baden plays a Martin Western guitar on L'Ame de BP, L'Art de BP and Le Coeur de BP. I really can't believe that. I see the photos of him with that guitar, but the recordings sound like a classical guitar, and with the tough Baden had on a classical guitar this is unmistakeable. Is there any chance he recorded with a classical, but then had pictures taken playing the Martin?
