It is not necessary to say that this is another release kindly sent by Caetano Rodrigues to Loronixers. This album should make the day of many friends, an artist that is widely unknown to everybody, never released before at Loronix and a wonderful musician that plays an instrument that everybody likes, the Violao. I'm curious to see feedback from Loronixers.
This is Geraldo Miranda - Dancando com Geraldo Miranda e Seus Novos Sons (1962), for Odeon, featuring the Brazilian guitarist Geraldo Miranda, which is also responsible for the arrangements of the accompaniment band. No much is known about this record and you should trust us that it worth a listening. Geraldo Miranda violao sounds unique and the album is very pleasant to hear. I cannot resist hearing a new artist, especially when his instrument is the Brazilian guitar. Tracks include:
- O Menino Desce o Morro (Vera Brasil / De Rosa)
- Mistura Fina (Luis Bandeira)
- Samba de Uma Nota Só (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
- Palhaçada (Haroldo Barbosa / Luis Reis)
- Champanhota (Lindolfo Gaya)
- Samba Em Las Vegas (Geraldo Miranda)
- Fim de Noite (Chico Feitosa / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
- Acêrca de Você (Geraldo Miranda)
- Meu Romance (José Antônio Marinho)
- O Barquinho (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
- Desafinado (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
- Tema do Mágico (José Antônio Marinho)
