It has been almost a year since the last Clara Nunes album was made available at Loronix. Clara Nunes is the favorite of many Loronixers. We made a survey in the very first beginning of Loronix to point out the greatest Brazilian Diva ever and Elis Regina was the winner. My fault to do not include Clara Nunes as an option and I'm sure she would be in the top three if included.
This is Clara Nunes - Clara Clarice Clara (1972), for Odeon. Clara Nunes started her recording career in the late 60's and these first ones are the albums available at Loronix. She started as a romantic singer, making a gradual change to Samba that came to a term with Clara, Clarice, Clara, her first album fully dedicated to the style. Later, Clara Nunes introduced Afro-Brazilian elements to her recordings, such as the use of lyrics based on religions such like Candomble and others. This album was found on MINT conditions and the vinyl was played for the first time this week, everything is fine here, from cover scans to the music. Tracks include:
01 - Sempre Mangueira (Nelson Cavaquinho / Geraldo Queiroz)
02 - Seca do Nordeste (Waldir de Oliveira / Gilberto Andrade)
03 - Alvorada no Morro (Carlos Cachaça / Cartola / Hermínio Bello de Carvalho)
04 - Tempo à Bessa (João Nogueira)
05 - Morena do Mar (Dorival Caymmi) Puxada da Rede do Xaréu (Maria Rosita Salgado Goes)
06 - Ilu Aye (Terra da Vida) (Cabana / Norival Reis)
07 - Opção (Gisa Nogueira)
08 - Anjo Moreno (Candeia)
09 - Tributo aos Orixás (Mauro Duarte / Ruben Tavares)
10 - Último Pau-de-arara (Venâncio / Corumba / José Guimarães) Vendedor de Caranguejo (Gordurinha)
11 - Clarice (Caetano Veloso / Capinan)

Grande Clara, que falta faz.
Alguém sabe me informar algo sobre o "final alternativo" para "Sabiá" (Tom/Chico), que ela canta em "Você Passa e Eu Acho Graça" (1968)?
