Sexteto Guanabara - Sorvete Dancante Vol. 2 (1963)

Hello, Good Evening! Let's start the day with another of those very popular "Para Dancar" albums, Loronixers like it a lot and they are downloaded a lot. By the way, for more than a decade, these "Para Dancar" releases were really popular, people use to buy these records like crazy for several purposes, such as parties, events and even to dance at home.

I remember last month when a very old lady on my building gave a donation of LPs to Loronix, she had the work to separate "Para Dancar" titles from the other albums. She was afraid that I would not like them and she got very happy when I said that the style was one of my favorites and one of the favorites at Loronix. Now she is addicted to Loronix and when we meet each other at hallways she say nice things about me and says that her life has now some kind of new meaning.

This is something that makes me feel very proud. Thanks Dona Alzira, tomorrow I will show you this text and we will have fun together.

This is Sexteto Guanabara - Sorvete Dancante Vol. 2 (1963), for Musiplay. Thanks Caetano for this album. Sexteto Guanabara released three LPs in the beginning of the 60's decade, personnel is not identified and we have probably well-known musicians making some extra income at Musiplay. A very young Oscar Castro Neves, credited as Oscar A. Neves at the back cover, produces Sorvete Dancante Vol. 2. Tracks include:

01 - Rio de Janeiro a Janeiro (Luis Antônio)
02 - Chega de Saudade (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Promessa (Custódio Mesquita / Evaldo Ruy)
04 - Ontem e Hoje (Getúlio Macedo / Irany de Oliveira)
05 - Foi Ela (Ary Barroso)

This is one of my very favorite types of recordings, too. They are such period pieces! The story about the woman in your building is very touching. Amazing how very small things can make such a difference in a person's day or life.
