This album address both worlds, side A has Dick Farney singing with piano accompaniment and side B has Dick Farney performing with his usual trio formation of piano, bass and drums. Everybody asks me for a Dick Farney album and my answer is another question, which one do you prefer? Dick Farney singing or instrumental? With Noite nobody goes wrong.
This is Dick Farney - Noite (1981), for Som da Gente. It is amazing how Dick Farney performs nicely on an album recorded very close to the end of his recording career, singing and playing. The repertoire is based on American standards with the exception of 06 - Se Todos Fossem Iguais a Voce (Antonio Carlos Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes), simply the best instrumental rendition of this song that I ever heard.
