Osmar Milani e Sua Orquestra - Bossa Nova das Americas (1963)

Caetano sent to our community this fantastic record on a style that I become an admirer with Loronix, the orchestra albums recorded by the "Maestros". There are several ones; my favorites are Luiz Arruda Paes and Lyrio Panicalli. Osmar Milani is being released for the first time with this album, hopefully the first out of the 5 ones recorded by Osmar Milani as main performer. Bossa Nova das Americas is a real treat for those who appreciate the rich Brazilian orchestra production. Let's see.

This is Osmar Milani e Sua Orquestra - Bossa Nova das Americas (1963), for Fermata. Osmar Milani is an active orchestra leader since the late 40's. I googled for Maestro Osmar Milani and the latest information reports the maestro in plenty activity in the year 2000 with the age of 80. Among several accomplishments, Osmar Milani is well known from Brazilian friends for being the official Maestro of Silvio Santos show for 30 years, replaced by Maestro Zezinho, active until today. Tracks include:

- Balanço das Notas (João Maria de Abreu)
- I Surrender Dear (H. Barris / G. Clifford)
- Sambossa N° 1 (João Maria de Abreu)
- Sophisticated Lady (Duke Ellington / I. Mills / M. Parish)
- Na Cadência do Samba (Ataulfo Alves)
- Solitude (Duke Ellington / E. de Lande / I. Mills)
- Waltzing Cat (L. Anderson)
- Neném (Tito Madi)
- I'll Buy The Ring And Chance Your Name To Mine (J. Mills / E. Rose / W. Raskin)
- Samba da Madrugada (Dora Lopes / Carminha Mascarenhas / Herotides Nascimento)
- Red Roses For a Blue Lady (S. Tepper / R. Brodsky)
- Vai Minha Canção (Tito Madi / Sidney Morais)
