This is Paul Desmond - From the Hot Afternoon (1969), for A&M, featuring a repertoire with Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo (guitar) and Airto Moreira (drums). Edu Lobo presents four songs in this album and is accompanied by his wife at that time, Wanda de Sa. Orchestral arrangements are by Don Sebesky. The early Milton Nascimento compositions makes the difference in this album considered by Caetano Rodrigues, as "Muuuuuuito Bom" in that unique way Caetano uses to say when an album is above the average. Thanks for this nice one, Caetano. Tracks include:

Beautiful-This is perhps my finest moment at Loronix- I feel really good that Caetano presents here my favourite saxplayer-
I will ever love Paul Desmond-He is my inspiration- Thank you so much Caetano to think again to Paul Desmond.
I feel very good
For those of you not familiar with Paul Desmond he had a long association with Dave Brubeck and their albums together are for the most part classics in jazz. Perhaps you will be familiar with the overplayed "Take Five" which of course is Desmond with Brubeck. If you relaly want to hear him at his best check out a track called "Le Souk" from one of the earlier Brubeck-Desmond collaborations.
Since i became an Edu Lobo maniac fan i´ve searched for this record. I´ve bougth it a few years ago and got really happy of having this album. Now it´s at Loronix for the pleasure of Loronixers. Another great job of Caetano Rodrigues and zecalouro. There are another bossa albums from Desmond that I really Love, wich is the one named "Take ten".
A great Sunday
to read that our friends at Loronix like Paul Desmond .Very nice to read your words friends Jazzman and Cisalpino- Many greetings
Hi Zeca,
There is an interesting fact about this record. Wanda Sa said in the new liner notes for the CD reissue that the tone was very low for her voice, and she almost couldn`t sing the music "To say goodbye". But Paul Desmond loved her singing and decided to keep it in the disc. In fact, it is very nice...
Gave this album a second chance today and I was very pleasantly surprised. Great album! Very relaxing without boring me.
Sem palavras parate agradecer, Zeca querido!
Love it! Thanks!
