Leny Andrade - Embraceable You (1991)

We saw many albums with the music from Brazil performed by non-Brazilian artists and now it is the time of making the opposite direction showing an album performed by a Brazilian artist with a repertoire of American standards. I think nobody can do it better than Leny Andrade.

This is Leny Andrade - Embreceable You (1991), for Som Livre, Leny Andrade delivers American Standards backed by a Bossa Nova combo featuring Joao Carlos Coutinho (piano, keyboards), Lucio Nascimento (bass), Adriano de Oliveira (drums) and Angelo Verploegen (flugelhorn). I have a very good friends that knows by heart Leny Andrade discography says this is the album he likes most. Thanks to Victor Ricelli for making available this album to Loronixers. Tracks include:

01 - Misty (E. Garner / Johnny Burke)
02 - Autumn Leaves (Les Feuilles Mortes) (J. Kosma / J. Prevert)
03 - The Man I Love (George Gershwin / Ira Gershwin)
04 - Night And Day (Cole Porter)
05 - Embraceable You (George Gershwin / Ira Gershwin)
06 - Stella By Starlight (V. Young / N. Washington)
07 - Body And Soul (J. Green / C. Heyman)
