Let's make it as straightforward as possible. This is Conjunto Castelinho - Os Donos da Bossa (1964), for Spot, I have been wondering if Spot executives in 1964 were really decided to release this wonderful instrumental LP with no additional information about it just to make zecalouro nuts in 2006. This is my assumption.
I have heard for some friends that Eumir Deodato is behind this LP. They might be sure. Who has this info? What are the musicians behind this group? This is the first Spot LP released at Loronix. All Spot cover artwork follows this style, simple, but really effective and nice to see. Tracks include:
01 - Menina Certinha (Durval Ferreira / Luis Fernando Freire)
02 - Samba de Verão (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
03 - Cesteiro Que Faz Um Cesto Faz Um Cento (Toni Vestane)
04 - Baiãozinho (Eumir Deodato)
05 - Muito à Vontade (João Donato)
06 - Samba Novo (Durval Ferreira / Newton Chaves)
07 - Esperança (Durval Ferreira / Luis Fernando Freire / Maurício Einhorn)
08 - Cheers (Henry Mancini)
09 - Ainda Mais Lindo (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
10 - Diz Que Fui Por Aí (Zé Keti / H. Rocha)
11 - Só Por Amor (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
12 - Ela É Carioca (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
13 - Pouca Duração (Pacífico Mascarenhas)

Zeca....how do you do it? Day after day all these wonderful Bossa Nova albums. Your place is Bossa heaven.
Thank you for your hard work and passion for the music we love.
Hi, Zeca!
Happy new year for you and for all bossanovistas!!!
As I know, "Conjunto Castelinho" was the pseudonym derived by the record label (Spot) owner to release Eumir Deodato's record "Impulso!"(Equipe) without the artist's knowledge.
The crew behind "Impulso!" was terrific Os Catedráticos with: Maurílio Santos (tp); Edson Maciel (tb); Walter Rosa (ts); Alberto Gonçalves (bs); Cipo (ts) (13);. Eumir Deodato (p,org, arr, cond); Neco (el-g); Luiz Marinho (b); Dom Um Romão (d) (1-7); Wilson Das Neves (d) (8-12); Jorge Arena (cga); Rubens Bassini (perc); Humberto Garin (guiro). They (with some personal modifications) also release for Equipe "Samba Nova Concepcao", "Tremendao", "Ataque" and best of all - "Ideias" (for Odeon)
hi zeca
i have the "conjunto gemini" for spot, also without info, but it turned out to be "miguel angel-samba na onda"...one of the best sambajazz records i have heard, and reissued on "whatmusic", so apparently that´s what spot does!
happy new year from denmark tambem, and thanks for the most amasing musicblog ever!

Hi bossanov,
thank you for the informations. I have "Impulso", so I don`t need that one. Do you know if the other spot releases are also Deodato
records?
the SPOT releases match the early equipe releases number for number. You can see them here:
